9th Whitby Clean-up of Manning Park - Fall 1998

20 Bags of garbage
The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts of 9th Whitby picked up more than 20 bags of garbage from their newly adopted park and trail.

This fall, the 9th Whitby Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts became the first Scouting group in Whitby to officially adopt a park. They recently held their first cleanup of the park and the adjoining trail and netted over 20 bags of garbage.

Mayor Marcel Brunelle, former president of the Whitby District Scouts Council, was present for the handing over over the certificate from the Town that made the park adoption official. The certificate was accepted on behalf of the group's partner, the Knights of Columbus, by group chair Helen Malley.
