Whitby District Scouts Challenge Cup 2002 |
Each year, Whitby District awards the Challenge Cup to a Section or Group that best demonstrates the values of scouting by responding to a challenge issued by the District Management Team.
The purpose of the Challenge Cup is:
In keeping with the stated purpose of the Challenge Cup, during Scout-Guide Week (Feb 17 - 24, 2002) all Groups and Sections are challenged to contribute to The Whitby Book of Scouting Records.
Establish the Biggest, the Longest, the Tallest, the Shortest, the Smallest, the Most, the Least, the Largest, the Widest, the Narrowest, the Fastest, the Slowest, the Highest…………….and so on.
The choices are endless, and they are your choices to make!
This is your opportunity to establish a first record for any activity based on traditional scouting skills*.
Any submissions to The Whitby Book of Scouting Records will be welcome at any time, however to be considered for the Scout-Guide Week Challenge Cup, the following criteria will be considered by the judges:
In judging the various records, the District Management Team will be looking for the active participation of as many members in a Group or Section as possible.

*Traditional Scouting Skills can be broadly defined as activities related to knots, maps, compasses, pioneering, signalling, open fires, cooking, outdoor equipment, First Aid, camping, hiking, canoeing and kayaking.
